Falling Down, the Broken Crown

OK, here it is, in a few words;

this is the beginning of the end

I don't just mean of my blog, or Tcol, or Tpop, or I Get By, this my friends, is the end of blogging within our little online community. We've had some good times, and we've had some less-than-good times, and hopefully we've all learnt something from them.

Over the years we have seen many blogs come and go, but Tpop has remained like a rock, even when Sean had his hand in other blogs, and for this it is probably the best blog we've had.
Jack has had a few works, Awsomeo Extreme, a major slot on NSR, JTol and now Tcol. All of which have been quite similair and often repetitive, but still a good read nontheless.
Alex did his bit in two seperate blogs (that i know of), NSR and TMG. The Manwhore's Guide really had potential, and it is sad that it never really took off. Alex's posts didn't always follow regulations but they were still entertaining and had a very unique style to them.
Telfer has also done work on two blogs, NSR and currently Tcol. On both Telfer has been assigned the subject of tech-guy, which is a very hard thing to blog on while still being original, but despite of the difficulties Telfer still posted when required and the posts were always well above par.
Callum had a part-time position on NSR, as the music man, his posts were extremely lengthy, but were still worth the read. Sadly this was the only blogging that Callum has done.
Triffin is a newcomer to blogging, but his efforts have been amazing, I Get By has been a highly engaging series of posts that just keep on delivering, sadly Triffin is leaving blogging, apparently for good.
(Triffin did come up with the idea of quitting blogging, i've been losing inspiration recently, and so yes, i am following in Triffin's shoes, but i'm doing it for good)
And as for me, i have had my fair share in blogs, firstly with The Nathan Variety Hour blog, which mainly looked at our social and musical 'adventures' in a series of 'epics'. I then went on to a very short-lived NVOSL, this blog was where i viewed my opinions on the social adaptations during the beginning of Year ten. After that i went on to begin the well recieved NSR, but that's a story in itself. After NSR i came here, and i've finished my part on Tcol.

There have been a few others that have pushed out from under the soil and tried their hand at blogging, but it hasn't worked out for them so well, but you still deserve a pat on the back for trying.
And we shall not forget the shenanigans from the Cbox's, from the FLAMEWARS to the 'raep mai faec', they have always been a source of inspiration.

I have also seen a massive change in the way i blog over the years, it started off being very creative and open, but this slowly deteriorated into a literal social commentary, and for this i have lost some respect for myself. Maybe it's just me growing up, maybe it's me losing that creativity as i go through school and life, and the imagination gets beaten out of me by the people i know, and by the people i don't know.

So, as this is the end for a few of us in blogging, maybe some of you will keep on going, sustaining a saga in our lives. But i will not be one of these people, i will not leave this up to you to decide, this is my work, and this is where i end it.
But do not worry, i will still continue with an internet presence in our small community, and i've got quite a project up my sleeve, you probably won;t hear of it for some months, but don't worry, it will be different, it will be entertaining, it will be.

So, for the last time...

This is Nathan J, DJ Needles, and DJ Thrak calling out to all you crazy cats for one final time,

Goodbye

The Rules

Evening.

This is just a little something to fill in time before major posts, and also to fill in time as i start the long process of waiting for the blockheads next door to turn down their fucking bass (this usually occurs between 1 and 2 AM, though sometimes they make it to 4...).

I'm just gonna post up a little Rule about making Rules for blogs...

Rule 1 - Never make rules about when you will post (this leads to pressure, and in turn bad quality posts. It also gives readers [if they ever get passionate enough about your blog, which is very rarely] an excuse to flame you for not posting within your own given rules. So keep rules, if you ever make any, to a content-based limit, though even in some cases these can cause inconveniences)

This is person out.

PS: (i'm not gonna post about it, but people that try to make something original even though it is blatantly mainstream is really starting to piss me off, wheres the creativity gone?)

Sorry for this, but there are things that need to be done

That there are. Well, sorry for a lack of posts over the last few pre-determined periods of time but i've just been churning out post after post over at another Blog. But since there are only four of you that read this blog, you've probably already been notified of this blog and are keeping tabs on it. Don't worry, when i have finished my work over there i will return here and fire up the bloggomatic and we'll be back in business.
This doesn't mean that i'm stopping all posts completely for IB, if something interesting happens, i'll be sure to post it up here as well.

Go do something else.

The Beginning Was The End

Well, this should be more of a posts than the other two today, due to the fact that i have some epic-win news for you few...

They had been planning to release an album late this year, but that has sadly been pushed back to 2010.

three songs have currently been named for the album, which is currently being called 'Fresh'

-Don't Shoot (I'm A Man)
-Watch Us Work It

Jars of Preserved Organs

well, i've got 45 minutes to do a blog post and i can't find a scanner so 3 pictures of pretty awesome and original somethings will be up before the end of the holidays.

events in my life:
-my uncle is still funny
-my Mum has another reason to not let me drink soft-drinks, apparently they will melt my bones...
-got a wii on Thursday, novelty gone
-can't find a scanner
-my cough's coming back...

OK, now onto the post about something original; "modern comedy, how we've fucked up".

Now, first off i'll say that comedy is comedy, it is designed to make us laugh, i'm not trying to say that modern comedy is un-funny, i just feel like it's shallow and unfullfilling.

in the golden days of comedy, there were great people such as Spike Milligan, Ronnie Barker, Hugh Laurie and even greater groups such as Monty Python, The Goodies, and many more...

Back then comedy had a broad range of uses, it was in long, linguistically fantastic sketches (see: the Two Ronnies), but also simple, short hard-hitting sketches (see: The Fruit In Season, by Spike Milligan). Comedy shows could go on for an hour, bringing joy to their viewers/listeners (radio plays were pretty awesome [and common] back then. (see: The Goon Show)). Jokes were smart and got you thinking, they left a lot to the audiences imagination, a joke was something you had to work at, it wasn't given to you on a platter.People had an average attention span of one and a half hours, pretty long for todays standards, but thats for another paragraph. Their long attention spans would give the comedians freedom to spend minutes intricately setting up for a punchline, they had a 'large canvas' to use...

But now, in our'21st century' comedy seems to have fallen in a heap, we're talented comedians are few and far between, almost anyone can be taught to do stand-up with good timing. But the one thing that gets to me most about this modern humour is that there is no substance, no thought. People used to put in gaps in their sketches/radio shows/routines, for the audience to understand and appreciate a joke. but now if you listen to the radio, almost every joke is just given to us, 'pre-cooked', we get hit one joke after another, so many punchlines that we must laugh at at least one. we get little satisfaction, just a laugh. The brilliant vocabulary that was used to a comedians advantage in the past has been replaced with swearing and cursing. Sketch shows now have average sketches of around 30 seconds, this time fits nicely within our fancy new modern average attention span of 10-15minutes. But some sketches are one and a half minutes, but they have to be cut up into multiple sections and spread out in our half-hour shows.

Plans just got delayed by around half-an hour. That gives me time to start drawing, but i doubt that scanning will be happening anytime soon.

"Nothing happened, but it happened suddenly"

OP out...

A Dirty Bullet

So here I am, ill for the second time in this holidays(well, i'm pretty much cured, but i'm still on meds) , and this reccurence is much milder than the orginal infection. And currently because of the new spaces opened up on my timetable you can expect some moderately worthy posts soon.
I added another picture up top there because a certain *unoriginal cockbag decided to one-up Triffin's banner, again...
(by the way, that person in the second banner is depicting me, it is a self-portrait)

*The term unoriginal cockbag can in no way be attributed to the author of http://trifgetsby.blogspot.com/ and the contents of included posts.

My Little Red Book

My new banner is up, it is my rendition of Triffin's banner, and those little blue 'stars' in the background are actually put in constellations that would be seen in the southern hemisphere sky in October. Thought you outta know.

we shall fight on the beaches

that we will...

Well, it's been a while since my previous post but i'm here again to be mildly retarded for a paragraph or two and then leave you with no reason to complain.

First off, new layout. all shiney and spacey and i had all i had to do was copypasta, quite brilliant. The only problem is that the blogger bar is gone, so i need to visit another blog in order to log in, bit of an effort really.

Whooping cough has been a bitch to me for the past week and a bit, but i've got antibiotics now which don't make me any better, just stop me from being infectious, so i'm safe.

This sickness has also kept me at home, so i have nothing to write to you about except for the fact that i found a yellow pokemon pocket and have been playing pokemon red all the time, but the save function hasn't been working, so... fuck. I also found something equally awesome and more useable, but that's for another something.

Boredom is now setting in, batteries are running low and it's time to wrap up. Due to the boredom there will probably be a re-do of the blog's layout, one good enough to rival Triffin. Due to the batteri

He'll Get By

Not as good as the Current Banner, but still a concept...

Too Soon?

Hey, here again to break my blogging ethics and bring some variety into our blogging community.

Just a side-note, that post just before really reminded me of my old blogs... good times.
But i'm not here to re-write my previous works, this is a new blog, new style, new ideas, same audience.

Towards the end of that post you might have noticed that i left a little comment about an 'urban blur'. By this i was describing how our society seems very standardised, now many of us youthfull types have realised this and have tried to break out with our own 'scenes', which really means nothing. This break-out of varying looks, has created a sort of rushed appearance to society, and so we're all being 'unique' in the same method. Yea, society sucks like that. Now, i'm sorry for saying that, it is quite a generalising and stereotyping comment. I understand that quite a few of you would like to believe that you stand out, a unique individual. Well, you probably are an individual, in one way or another, but you will never be unique, whatever you feel is unique about you, someone else will have that, they will...

Just thought i'd put that thought out there...
And i'm not really sorry for saying it, so i'll be taking that thought back in...

Here comes some 'Woah'

well, another day another post, another post another subject...

the 90 million(+) dollar lotto is on tonight, lots of money up for grabs, lots of grabbing by the people. Lots of people would like the sudden wealth that winning the lotto would bring them, and many of those people say that they wouldn't. Apparently too many problems would come with the money; family, friends, media, general public, whenever someone wins a big amount of money through any means and lets the media do stories about them, never really seem as happy as you would expect, they usually try to explain the problems to us, saying that 'it's not that great'

but it could have been, if they just had not signed some media consent forms and they'd be home free, just another face in the crowd. One more unrecognizable person that walks past you, never to be seen again. Free to go buy the latest iPod without any hesitation, without being served by a trainee at the store that has a stupid grin on their face, free to be part of this urban blur.

and that's the post... Nothing really special, i know, don't worry, i don't plan to leave you hanging...

I Think We Found His Insecurity...

Woah, stop those thoughts. I'm not gonna let this blog die just like that, i'm much more dignified,

you've seen how i go out in style.

but enough of looking into the past, time to change our views to the future, or at least the present. Actually, screw the looking, i'll do some talking and you can do some listening.
well, theres just been a sudden development. But i'll let you investigate that yourselves.

Ok, now onto some actually bloggy substance, and i'm gonna try to be smart and blog about bloggin... Personally, the main reason i blog is to pass the time, i have churned out many posts in my 100-days off. I do also believe that a major part of a blog's appeal is all the 'show' involved, such as a fancy banner (see above), and also the way things are worded can make a blog seem very 'attractive'. Simply, avoid everyday words, try to use slightly less common adjectives and other such describing words. Repetition is also something to avoid, a fancy word or phrase should really not be used twice in a paragraph, and preferably only once in the whole blog. Subject matter is also very important to me, seriously, who wants to read three seperate posts in a row about a lack of posts, it's just extremely dull and offputting, so please don't pressure me for posts, because i take all of that into consideration.

Remember, the chatbox will always* be open for you to compliment/insult me about my posts, that's why it's there, seriously

Well, holidays are coming up, still not much planned, hopefully everything won't fall apart...

Only 3 days left for most of us, so have a good one world, have a good one for me

*always, unless the admin of this blog goes all totalatarian and we lose colour...

Game Plan

Welcome generic peoples to my latest piece of work to be uploaded through the wires straight to you, Instant Blue - A Tale Of 'Woah'.

Well, now that the formalities are out of the way, i believe it's time for a game plan to be set out before i get into the juicy blogness that you are all here for. Realisticly this blog should only last 1 or 2 months, i'll get bored, you'll get bored and i'll just have to hit the often used 'reset' button and start all over again. Overall the blogging here should be very disjointed and loose, but i will have some set commandments that i should follow most of the time.

1/ this blog is not set up for me to have a vent or a whinge about how crappy things, or other people can be

2/ obey all commandments

yea, that idea fell apart quickly...

well, subject matter will just be what i feel like, i might scan some drawings into here...
if you have anything you'd like me to review/talk about, then just post a comment or put something in the Cbox on the side there.

Don't expect a post everyday, i have better things to pretend to be doing... almost. I'm just saying that now so you can't start Heckling me when the spring runs dry and you're left with reading other blogs for a while.

Hmm, interesting first post, maybe this will go somewhere.
Well, this is DJ Nee--- GAr. sorry, force of habit.
yea... First post finally done, keep the feedback coming if you want me to post sooner, this isn't just going to be a give-give-give relationship between us, there's gonna have to be at least some contribution by you readers.
Even if it's just a 'Nice Post'
so, hope you've enjoyed this nice post, i'm gonna go eat some bread.
